Notable apps and app updates for Nov. 16, 2017

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

iOS Apps/Updates

CleverBooks has introduced CleverBooks Geometry 1.0. It’s a free augmented reality based geometry that can be used as a supplementary aid to any existing primary math curriculum supporting children ages 7-11 years old. It features 3D models with augmented reality (AR) for main geometric shapes to help students develop cognitive and critical thinking.

Magnin & Associates has launched Mini Golf Challenge 1.0. The $1.99 app simulates nine or 18 holes of miniature golf, complete with a turning windmill, animated alligators, rotating planks, and other challenging holes. The game offers multiple game play modes, including local single player, or multiplayer multi-platform online play. Players can optionally share accomplishments via email, instant messaging, or social media.

Gentlemen Coders has debuted RAW Power, a professional RAW photo app for iPhones and iPads running iOS 11. RAW Power for iOS builds on the success of RAW Power for Mac and uses Apple’s RAW Engine to decode images and allow editing of RAW photos on the go, while also granting unprecedented access to the Photo Library on iOS 11. RAW Power for iOS is a free download with the option to add premium features such as Depth Effect, Curves and White Balance through an in-app purchase of the Advanced Adjustment Pack for $9.99.

macOS Apps/Updates

Maintain has served up Cocktail 11.1 (High Sierra Edition), a new edition of Cocktail for users running macOS High Sierra.

Cocktail is a general purpose utility for macOS that lets users clean, repair and optimize their Macs. This version adds the ability to clear Twitter caches and macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 compatibility. It also has performance tweaks and bug fixes.

Cocktail costs $19 for a single user license. A demo is available for download.
