Notable apps and app updates for May 16, 2017

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

iOS Apps/Updates

iAppLab Solutions has introduced Taxpense. It’s an app for managing business tax and finances. Taxpense offers small business owners, self-employed, freelancers and contractors a way to manage and track GST, VAT, tax, income, expense and mileage related to multiple accounts in a business portfolio It’s available in both free and paid ($2.99) versions.

macOS Apps/Updates

Neonway has released Tray Player Lite 1.7, an update of the free music player for macOS. It allows users to play audio files on their Mac.

Tray Player Lite sorts through the files that users drag and drop into the app, and plays only the files that contain audio. Featuring three play modes, it supports multiple audio formats, allows users to skip to the exact spot in a track and more. Version 1.7 is a maintenance upgrade.

Tray Player requires macOS 10.9 or later. It’s available at the Mac App Store.

Jumsoft has announced Money 5.1, an update to their finance management app for macOS. It’s designed to help you keep control of your financial life.
With Money, you can oversee your account balances, track your income and spending, keep budgets, and so much more. Version 5.1 brings advanced data encryption and security, with user interface improvements that enable more detailed insights into finance.

Money 5.1 requires macOS 10.12 or later. It costs $49.99 and is available worldwide through the Mac App Store.

Noodlesoft has rolled out Hazel 4.1 a feature update to their housekeeping utility for macOS. The upgrade features smart date matching, as well as boasts a new user guide to help users to take advantage of Hazel’s features. 

Previewing rules is now enhanced with detachable popovers and highlighting of text matches. Other features include default values for empty attributes, a new “capture date” attribute, the ability to match a file based on others in the same folder, and more.

Hazel 4.1 costs $32 and can be purchased from Noodlesoft. Version 4.1 is a free update for registered 4.0 users. Users with licenses for version 3 or earlier can upgrade for $10. A demo is available for download.
