Notable apps and app updates for July 13, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

iOS Apps/Updates

Jeffrey Yim has debuted Crazy Skies 1.0. Gamers will fly high into the sky with collectible pets as they dodge deadly traps while collecting coins and compete to get the highest score in the world. Crazy Skies is free, but does tout in-app purchases.

macOS Apps/Updates

AKVIS has released AKVIS Refocus 6.0 for Mac OS X and Windows. The utility improves sharpness of out-of-focus images and adds blur effects to photos.

You can process the entire image or only selected parts. Version 6.0 offers a batch processing feature, a modernized user interface with support for Ultra HD displays, advanced print options, and other improvements.

On the Mac platform, AKVIS Refocus requires Mac OS X 10.6 or higher. The product is available as a standalone application and as a plugin filter for Adobe Photoshop and other image editors.

AKVIS Refocus, Home License, sells for $39. Version 6.0 is a free upgrade for those who bought or upgraded the software during the last 12 months. If your license isn’t valid for the latest version, you can get the new version for $14.95.
