Notable apps and app updates for July 11, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

iOS Apps/Updates

Forsbit has unleashed Monster Run 1.0.1. In the horror-themed platformer game, players try to get their monster home, following its escape from the evil scientist’s lab. Monster Run is free, but does tout in-app purchases.

Dollaropath has launched Tomatoes for iPad 1.0, the tablet companion app to their productivity app for the Mac and iPhone. The $8.99 app is designed to help you “be more efficient, organized, and productive in managing tasks.” It’s customizable with iCloud synchronization, Apple Reminders compatibility and a user interface made for iOS 9.

Zapporoo and Dianna Story have teamed up for Automatic Card 1.0. The free financial app offers a way to manage all of the automatic charges made on your credit cards, as well as quickly find account/contact numbers if their credit cards are lost or stolen. The team companies have also debuted Night Lamp App 1.0, a free app that displays a kid-friendly image in one of two ways: splashed across a bedroom’s walls, floor and ceiling by using an iPhone projector; or featured in high resolution on the iPhone’s screen.

Neoappz has introduced Text Extractor & Translator 1.0. The travel app extracts, translates and reads text from printed material. It’s designed for travelers who need to understand text written in foreign languages on printed material such as restaurant menus, ads or road side bill boards. It’s also useful for extracting ,saving and sharing articles from books or magazines. Text Extractor & Translator 1.0, but a “pro” version is available for $4.99.

Shape of Sound Limited has rolled out Shade’s Exile: In The Beginning 1.0. In the free game, the title character can bounce around like a pinball and do stunts, or can run about and shoot enemies out the way.

tvOS Apps/Updates for the Apple

Outland – Space Journey 1.0 has blasted off from Vito Technology. Designed for the Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad the $0.99 app offers a collection of videos of ISS footage and computer-generated views of planetary surfaces and deep space objects. Played on a fourth generation Apple TV, this app transforms the TV screen into a spaceship window. You can see the Hubble Space Telescope flying over the surface of the Earth, the winds of Jupiter, and more.

macOS Apps/Updates

Reggie Ashworth has announced AppDelete Lite 4.2.7, an update to his Mac deletion utility.

Via drag and drop, AppDelete Lite will uninstall anything along with all of the associated items. Version 4.2.7 improves the search algorithm to handle special cases.

App Delete Lite requires OS X 10.7.3 or later. It costs $3.99 and is available at the Mac App Store. AppDelete Lite users can upgrade to AppDelete for an additional $3.99, but only via the AppDelete/AppDelete Lite website.
