Notable apps and app updates for Jan. 17, 2018

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

macOS Apps/Updates

Reinvented Software has updated Keep It — their notebook, scrapbook and organizer for macOS — to version 1.2.

The upgrade adds icon view, improved Files app support, custom styles for notes, and improvements to search, tag filtering, imports, and more. Keep It is the successor to Together.

Keep It for Mac 1.2 requires macOS 10.12 or later. A 15-day demo is available for download. Registration costs $49.99, and includes all Keep It version 1.x updates. Together 3 users can purchase a $24.99 upgrade, or get a free copy if Together 3 was purchased during its final 6six months on sale.

AKVIS has released a new set of frames — the $17 Pin-Up Pack, created exclusively for use in AKVIS Frames (free) and AKVIS ArtSuite $39).

Pin-up style that was popular in the USA in the 1940s and the 1950s is undergoing a revival nowadays. The term not only refers to the retro fashion, but also to art, graphic design, filming and photography (so-called Cheesecake photography style). You can use the Pin-Up Pack to decorate your photographs

On the Mac platform, the AKVIS products run on macOS 10.7 and higher. A demo os AKVIS ArtSuite is available for download.

Ergonis Software has announced Typinator 7.4, a maintenance update to their text expander.

It’s not only a typing assistant that speeds repetitive typing tasks, but also a system-wide auto-correction tool that automatically fixes typing errors and misspelled words. Version 7.4 improves Typinator’s Quick Search feature and offers more than 30 further usability and compatibility improvements.

Typinator 7.4 requires macOS 10.6 or higher. It can be purchased on the Ergonis Software website. The upgrade to Typinator 7.4 is free for Typinator 7 license owners and for anyone who purchased a license for Typinator 6 on or after Jan. 1, 2016. Upgrade paths are available for owners of older licenses.
