Notable apps and app updates for Aug. 24, 2016

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

Mac OS X Apps/Updates

Anthropics Technology has launched PortraitPro Body, dedicated full body retouching software. The new software is designed to simplify and speed up body photo editing.

PortraitPro Body allows you to retouch upper body and full-length portrait photos,. Its technology is based on academic research into human appearance and on extensive training in human body shape and beauty, which ensures fast automation and the most appropriate, fully adjustable results, according to the folks at Anthropics Technology.

PortraitPro Body retouching software is available in two editions – the $39.95 Standard (standalone) and $59.95 Studio (standalone and plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and Lightroom). It’s compatible with Mac OS X 10.7 or higher.

iOS Apps/Updates

Bubble has introduced a free local event discovery app (https://itunes.apple.com/app/bubbl-your-live-local-activity/id1059261546) for iPhone. It’s a local activity map with crowd-sourced events to address the problem of “what do I do now?” The app is focusing on San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area for the time being and plans to expand to other cities soon.
