tvOS Apps/Updates for the Apple

Magnin & Associates has introduced Bungee Jump Challenge 1.0 for the Apple TV. The $1.99 app recreates the excitement of bungee jumping from an old wood bridge over a scenic canyon stream. Tilt the top edge of your device forward to lean over the edge of the bridge and start your jump. Rotate device to left or right to steer side to side. Try to pop all three red balloons during a single jump.

Too Tidy Games has debuted GunKinger Bonanza 1.0 for the Apple TV. It’s a $1.99 game for up to four “gunslingers.” Using the Siri Remote, players aim the six-shooter and the touch surface on the Siri Remote to handle the gun with swipes/tap gestures.

Mac OS X Apps/Updates

Carnation Software has released MacWise 15.3, an update to its terminal emulation software for Macintosh.

MacWise allows a Macintosh to be used as a terminal, connected to a host computer directly, by modem, local area network or over the Internet with telnet or ssh secure shell. MacWise emulates ADDS Viewpoint, Wyse 50, Wyse 60, Wyse 370, Televideo TV 925, DEC VT100, VT220 and Prism terminals. Version 15.3 is compatible with Mac OS X El Capitan and is backwards compatible to Snow Leopard.

MacWise supports AppleScript commands. Many functions of the app can be controlled by a script (such as transferring data to and from the host, sending commands to the host and messages to the MacWise user). Scripts compiled as applications can be run from “Run AppleScript” under the Special Menu. For instance, you can write a script to transfer data from the host to a file on your Macintosh and then tell another application to open that file.

MacWise costs $95 per user. Multiple quantity discounts are available.

Maintain has announced Cocktail 8.8.3 (Yosemite Edition), the latest maintenance update for users running OS X Yosemite.

Cocktail 8.8.3 (Yosemite Edition) requires OS X Yosemite 10.10 to run. Cocktail (Mavericks Edition) for OS X 10.9, Cocktail (Mountain Lion Edition) for OS X 10.8 and Cocktail (Lion Edition) for OS X 10.7 are available for download from Maintain website.
