Nomad announces upcoming Base Station Pro (which sounds like the late Apple AirPower)

Nomad has announced a partnership with Aira, the creator of FreePower, a new wireless charging technology. The first product from the partnership is the Base Station Pro, which sounds very similar to Apple’s abandoned AirPower product.

It features one surface created from an 18 coil matrix and can charge up to 3 devices in any orientation. All devices can charge simultaneously at up to 5W each. The Base Station Pro works with Airpods and other wireless charging earbuds. It’s powered by a 27W USB-C PD charger included in the box.

Today (Oct. 11) is the “soft launch: for the product on the Nomad website. There’s will be an email signup at the site.

Pricing hasn’t been announced. However, pre-orders will begin in November.
