No M3 Mac laptops this year? What about a refreshed 24-inch iMac?

Backing up previous reports, DigiTimes says that Apple will release its first MacBooks based on TSMC's 3nm fabrication process next year, not this year.

Apple is unlikely to release any new MacBook models with the M3 chip this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted today.

That’s a bummer for anyone hoping to buy M3-equipped 13-inch MacBook Pros or 13-inch MacBook Airs that have been rumored for some time. Kuo doesn’t comment on the possibility of a 24-inch iMac with an M3 processor.

However, if he’s correct and no Mac laptops are coming, that doesn’t bode well for a refreshed all-in-one. Which is too bad as the 24-inch iMac is getting waaaaaay long in the tooth, having debuted in 2021.

Kuo is usually very accurate in his predictions. However, the Sellers Research Group (that’s me) think we will see the rumored M3 chip upgrades before the holidays.
