Next-gen Apple Watch models (at least the ‘X’ model) may sport completely redesigned watch band connectors

An upcoming Apple Watch (the Apple Watch X?) may use resin-coated copper.

Next-gen Apple Watch models will feature a completely redesigned band connector, rendering them incompatible with all current bands, according to the Apple leaker “Kosutami” — as noted by MacRumors.

From his tweet: Connectors of next generation of Watch has completely redesigned…Literally if you have old bands now, just sell it.

This (kinda) lines up with a previous rumor. In an August 13 edition of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that 2024 or 2025 will see Apple launch the “Apple Watch X,” the biggest redesign of its smartwatch ever.

He says the launch of the smartwatch will come in time for the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch. Gurman says Apple is trying to make the Watch X thinner than previous model. He adds that it could also include a new magnetic attachment system for attaching and swapping bands.
