News round-up: the titanium Apple Card is 90% titanium (and more)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, we’ll frequently offer a wrap-up of news items you should check out.

Trivia fact: Bloomberg Businessweek sent a physical Apple Card to University of California, Berkeley professor and mineralogist Hans-Rudolf Wenk to determine the card’s atomic makeup. It’s made of 90% titanium and 10% aluminum. 

Huawei Australia has named Paul Jowett, who formerly worked for both Apple and Samsung, to the role of director of marketing, according to Mumbrella. At Apple. he held roles in ANZ Partner Marketing.

Bunq Apple Pay support is now available in the Netherlands after the Dutch bank first offered it to customers in Germany, Italy, and Spain. 

According to AppleInsider, Apple is staying relatively conservative with production of its 2019 iPhones, analysts suggest, with the overall number of units ordered from its assembly partners thought not to be that much higher than what the company requested for 2018’s releases. 

ABC Australia says thieves armed with weapons, including a sledgehammer, smashed their way into two Apple stores in Perth before threatening security guards and making off with $300,000 worth of goods, mostly mobile phones.
