News round-up: Google researchers claim to have found ‘multiple security flaws’ in Safari (and more)

Google researchers claim to have discovered “multiple security flaws” in Apple’s Safari browser, according to a new report from the Financial TImes (a subscription is required to read the article). The flaws were purportedly found in Safari’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention feature, which is designed to protect users from cross-site tracking and other online privacy concerns, and have since been fixed.

At least one 2020 iPhone will come in a new Navy Blue finish, according to XDA Developers writer and leaker Max Weinbach, who shared his information with YouTube channel EverythingApplePro

President Donald Trump, in a CNBC interview, stepped up his war of words on Apple’s refusal to unlock iPhones for investigators in criminal cases.

Trade tensions between the UK government and the U.S. have spiraled after the chancellor, Sajid Javid, took a defiant stance at Davos, reports the BBC. U.S. treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin has threatened new tariffs on UK carmakers after the chancellor defied pressure to cancel a new tax on tech firms. However, Javid said the UK won’t back down over the tax, which will hit firms like Apple, Amazon, and Facebook.
