News round-up: Apple helps protect, restore mangrove forest in Cispata Bay, Columbia (and more)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

For Apple’s Earth Day 2018 Give Back campaign, Apple says it partnered with Conservation International to protect and restore the 27,000-acre mangrove forest in Cispatá Bay, which is expected to sequester one million metric tons of CO2 over its lifetime. At the Global Climate Action Summit last September in California.

What’s more, Apple CEO Tim Cook has marked Earth Day by highlighting four environmentally-themed photographs as part of the ongoing “Shot on iPhone” campaign.

Take this with a bit of skepticism, but SlashLeaks has posted an image that’s supposed to be iPhone XI and XI Max molds for third party cases for the upcoming smartphones.

Bowers & Wilkins has announced the Formation Wireless Music System, a multi-room audio system with AirPlay 2 support. You can grab you one for $3,999.

According to Quartz, Apple employs an in-house philosopher but won’t let him talk to the press.

Now you can upload you videos for transcription, purchase tiered plans, and collaborate on transcriptions, so that both editor and client can review the results seamlessly.

Apple has released the third developer betas of macOS 10.14.5, iOS 12.3, tvOS 12.3, and watchOS 5.2.1.

Registered developers can download the betas via Apple’s developer portal. Or they can be downloaded over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center.
