Netatmo’s Healthy Home Coach works with Apple HomeKit

One of the first Internet of Things / Home Automation devices I reviewed years ago was a first-generation indoor/outdoor weather monitor from Netatmo. The company has been spectacularly successful with its reasonably-priced, durable and easy-to-use devices, and now has a complete line of products. Today, Netatmo announced the new Healthy Home Coach ($99), billed as a smart indoor climate monitor that’s compatible with Apple’s HomeKit framework.

The Healthy Home Coach keeps watch over humidity, air temperature, noise and air quality, then provides an easy-to-understand rating for each location. For example, if a humidifier has been running too long in a child’s room, the Healthy Home Coach might respond that conditions are “Fair” in the room and suggest turning off the humidifier to lower the humidity.

The Healthy Home Coaches use HomeKit’s simple setup process to connect to Wi-Fi, and multiple devices can be monitored with the Netatmo app. Thanks to HomeKit, you can even ask Siri how conditions are in a room that’s monitored with the Healthy Home Coach.

We’re trying to get a Healthy Home Coach for review; if we’re successful, we’ll have a full review highlighting the setup and use of the new device soon.
