Mophie’s new version of the 3-in-1 travel charger with MagSafe improves on the company’s multi-device travel charger. The main difference is that it now includes Apple Watch fast charging support, which is great for those of us who are Apple Watch users.
Fast charge is a feature for the Apple Watch Ultra (generations one and two) and Apple Watch Series 7 and later, though the Apple Watch SE isn’t supported.
With fast charge, the battery level on supported non-Ultra smartwatches can go from 0% to 80% in about 45 minutes. The battery level on Apple Watch Ultra and later can go from 0% to 80% in about an hour.
The fast charging Apple Watch magnetic charger flips up to hold your Apple Watch at the best angle to take advantage of Nightstand mode. Nightstand mode allow you to use your Apple Watch as a mini bedside alarm clock, completely with snooze and time.
The new version of Mophie’s 3-in-1 travel charger also has interior pockets for organizing your cables, as well as a discreet AirTag pocket. The latter allows you to include one of Apple’s tracking devices to make sure the travel charger (or the travel bag purse, suitcase, etc., can be located if misplaced. Plus, the fabric of the travel case is more eco-friendly, being made with up to 50% recycled plastic bottles.
As with the previous model, the new version of Mophie’s 3-in-1 travel charger is MFI Certified, which means the magnetic array on the travel charger is designed specifically for the iPhone and other devices compatible with wireless charging. The magnetic ring allows devices to snap into the sweet spot so wireless charging begins on contact.
By the way, MagSafe is the name of Apple’s accessory system that’s integrated into the iPhone 12 and later. A ring of magnets on the back of the phone (and in MagSafe-enabled cases) lets you attach various magnetic accessories. The Apple MFI Program is a certification process that ensures third-party accessories adhere to Apple’s quality, safety, and performance standards.
As you might guess the 3-in-1 travel charger is designed for, well, travel. It folds up and fits into a compact travel case that’s now more secure with a zipper enclosure. It also features room to include additional charging cables.
Also, as you might guess from its name, the 3-in-1 travel charger can charge up to three devices simultaneously. There are dedicated spots for an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods/AirPods Pro.
