Mophie’s new juice pack H2PRO and your iPhone 6 are ready to take a swim

More often than not, my iPhones over the years have had a constant companion — a mophie juice pack or juice pack air battery pack. While the big battery capacity of the iPhone 6 Plus has made that accessory less of a “must have” so far, there are a lot of people who own the iPhone 6 who might need the extra power in a juice pack. Now they can have both 2,750 mAh of battery power and complete waterproof protection in one package — the juice pack H2PRO ($129.95, pre-order only)

Mophie says the juice pack H2PRO is designed to provide MIL-STD810G drop protection as well as  IP-68 ingress protection. The latter rating means that your iPhone can take a 1.2m (3.93 foot) dip in water for up to 30 minutes, and it will also be protected against dust. Military Standard 810G is a vibration, shock and drop standard, and the H2PRO can take a 1.2m drop onto concrete without flinching.

As you’d expect from a waterproof case, the juice pack H2PRO has water-tight ports and a screen protector. The company put a flexible and scratch resistant membrane over the screen that even lets you use Touch ID — perfect for paying for a canoe rental with your iPhone 6.

The company expects to ship the juice pack H2PRO later this month, and we’re hoping to have a full review soon.
