Moovweb announces planned integration with Apple

Moovweb, which specializes in powering mobile experiences for the world’s leading brands, has announced plans to optimize its platform for Apple Pay’s rumored debut on mobile web.

Ajay Kapur, CEO and founder, claims Moovweb is the only company to get retailers quickly and easily integrated with Apple Pay for mobile web. It’s an implementation he expects to increase conversions by 50% for its customers.

Kapur says Moovweb expects at least 80% of major retailers to implement Apple ’s payment service on mobile web in the coming months. That includes brands like Best Buy, Staples, Target and Walgreens.

Apple has been telling potential partners that its payment service, which lets shoppers complete a purchase on mobile apps with their fingerprint, is expanding to websites later this year, reports Re/code , quoting unnamed “multiple sources.”

The mobile payment service will be reportedly available to shoppers using the Safari browser on iPhones and iPads that sport Apple’s TouchID fingerprint technology. Apple has also considered making the service available on Macs, too, though it’s not clear if the company will launch that capability, according to Re/code. The article adds that the expansion of Apple Pay will be ready before this year’s holiday shopping season.
