Macy’s Herald Square in New York store in host an Apple store-within-a-store

Macy’s CEO-designate Jeff Gennette told Wall Street analysts that the department store has signed a deal with Apple to open an Apple store within its one million square-foot flagship at Herald Square in New York.

Macy’s the first department store to host one of the tech giant’s emporia, but it will also be able to sell the Apple Watch at more than 180 stores in time for the Thanksgiving to Christmas rush. “It will be in all of our top buildings for the holiday season,” said Gennette, who will take over as CEO early next year.

Macy’s Herald Square store has been around for 150 years. ”America’s Largest Department Store” covers an entire city block with 11 levels.
