MacVoices: Jeff Carlson explains macOS Snapshots and how to use ‘em

On the new episode of MacVoices, Jeff Carlson joins host Chuck Joiner to draw on information from his Take Contol of Your Digital Storage book to help us understand macOS snapshots.

A function of recent version of macOS, snapshots facilitate backups and data recovery in a way that is similar to, but different from, Time Machine. In the first part of the discussion, Carlson and Joiner develop an unusual analogy to help you understand how snapshots work, how they fit in with Time Machine, and where to find them on your Mac.

MacVoices is an Internet show that delivers in-depth discussions with the most influential people in the Mac industry as well as the individuals who are out there making it happen on the front lines of the global Apple community. Founded as an audio program in 2005, the show has evolved into audio and video versions to offer the best of both worlds.

Joiner is the producer and host of MacVoices. You can catch up with what he’s doing on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
