macOS, Mac apps only account for 0.3% of common computer repair issues in 2017

Here’s a good reason to keep on using a Mac — or switch if you’re not currently a Mac user. macOS and macOS apps only account for 0.3% of computer repair issues in 2017, as compiled by the RESCUECOM computer repair company.

The most common computer repair issues in 2017 rank as follows: Windows OS (33.9%) ; Windows application (22.7%); virus/spyware/malware/pop-up ads (10.5%); email trouble (6.6%); running slow (6.2%); printer issues (6.1%); data recovery (4.4%); Internet connectivity (4.3%); computer fails to boot (3.5%); hardware problems (0.6%); user caused (0.6%); phone problems (0.3%); Mac applications (0.2%); and macOS (0.1%).

“Windows apps are the biggest problem this year due to buggy Windows 10 updates,” says RESCUECOM. “While Microsoft fixes the errors, they still cause problems and frustration. Fortunately, Microsoft allows you to easily uninstall any problematic Windows updates on your PC.”

Mac users face the same problems as PC users, though much less frequently overall. Mac apps can slow down performance, but they are exceptionally easy to uninstall and doing so will usually alleviate this issue, according to RESCUECOM. The computer repair company says to be wary of third-party applications from the Apple store and poorly reviewed apps, and only download those that are Apple-approved.
