Look for new Apple MacBooks to debut in October

Look for new 12-inch MacBooks sometime in September or October. The Sellers Research Firm (that’s me) says that October is more likely as September will be the month Apple unveils new iPhones and iPads.

According to DigiTimes, Taiwanese manufacturer Quanta will fulfill orders for new “inexpensive notebooks” from the tech giant in the fourth quarter. Some pundits are expecting a new, entry-level-priced MacBook Air to be introduced, as well, but I don’t.

I think the MacBook Air — last updated in mid-2017 — will be discontinued, with a low end 12-inch MacBook serving as Apple’s sub-$1,000 Mac laptop model. I also think that the company will unveil a 13-inch version of the MacBook in October, along with new iMacs and, if we’re lucky, an updated Mac mini.
