iPhone 13 may sport an always-on display like the Apple Watch

In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the upcoming iPhone 13 may sport an “always-on display” a la the Apple Watch. This would be accomplished thanks to a larger-battery.

An always-on display would also be facilitated by LTPO displays that can keep the screen on at all times, but with a lower brightness level. The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) thinks an always-on display makes sense for the Apple smartphone.

Other rumors/predictions for the iPhone 13, which is expected in September or October:

° It will adopt the improved Wi-Fi 6E protocol.

° High-end models of the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup will sport an upgraded ultra-wide camera with autofocus.

° Some, perhaps all, models will have LiDAR sensors.

° There may be a 1TB version available.
