‘iPad Pro’ rumored for the fall; what can we expect?

The rumored 12.9-inch “iPad Pro” will enter mass production sometime in September or October, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says in a note to clients (as noted by MacRumors.com).

The analyst also thinks that the super sized iPad will come with a Force Touch-enabled stylus accessory so users can more easily navigate the increased surface area of the tablet. There are also various and sundry rumors that the iPad Pro will: run Mac OS X; have USB ports; and have a keyboard port.

The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) thinks the iPad Pro will have an optional keyboard (as well as the aforementioned optional stylus), but will most certainly be a tablet. It will be able to perform basic computing tasks such as word processing, doing spreadsheets, surfing the Net, and basic image editing. However, don’t expect it to handle heavy duty video editing, hardcore gaming and 3D model rendering. You’ll still need a “true” Mac laptop for those jobs. And it certainly won’t run Mac OS X, per my crystal ball.
