iOS 9 adoption predicted to be faster than that for iOS 8

Crittercism, a mobile app intelligence platform provider, has created a predictive model for iOS 9 adoption and expects a 50% adoption rate by day 25, which is three days faster than iOS 8 reached the same level of adoption. iOS 9 is due for a Sept. 16 release.

This year’s iOS release should be much smoother, says Crittercism. iOS 9.0 release’s current crash rate of 2.77% is only 14.46% greater than last two versions, whereas iOS 8.0 had a crash rate of 3.48% during the equivalent time period.

A week after its release, Crittercism expects to see a 31% adoption rate for iOS 9, while iOS 8 saw a 35% adoption by the end of its first week. The mobile app intelligence platform believes this is because “public perception of upgrading has been a bit tarnished and users are becoming more cautious about upgrading.”
