How to stop pop-up ads in macOS Sierra’s Safari

Do pop-up ads annoy you as much as they annoy me? If so, you can stop ‘em fro popping in macOS Sierra’s Safari web browser. Here’s how:

Start by closing any pop-ups that are open on your Mac. Press the Close button on the pop-up. If the pop-up reappears or will not close, you can click the “x” on the tab or close the entire Safari window.

Close Safari. The next time you open the web browser, hold down the Shift key while Safari opens. This prevents Safari from automatically reopening any windows.
