Gary Oldman to star in ‘Slow Horses’ for Apple TV+

Actor Gary Oldman (Sid and Nancy, Darkest Hour, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter films) will star in a small screen adaptation of Mick Herron’s Slough House books for Apple TV+, according to Variety.

Titled Slow Horses after the first novel in the series, the show follows British intelligence agents (the “slow horses”) who have screwed up a case in any number of ways. Oldman will star as Jackson Lamb, “the brilliant but irascible leader” of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career ending mistakes.

Oldman is an English actor and filmmaker. He is the recipient of various accolades, including an Academy Award, three BAFTA Awards, two Critics’ Choice Awards, a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

According to Variety, former Veep writer Will Smith will write and executive produce Slow Horses, with Graham Yost, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Gail Matrux, and Douglas Urbanski also executive producing. See-Saw films will produce.
