EP 01 Triple Black is sonic-sensory footwear that works with an iPhone

DropLabs, which makes sonic-sensory footwear, has released its Triple Black Edition, an update to its original EP 01 sneaker, and which works with an iOS app.

The latest product boasts an all-black exterior, and DropLabs’ patented technology is embedded in the midsole of the shoe. It delivers audio, in stereo, from any connected device to your feet, “creating full-body bass audio which simulates the energy of a live event and immerses you in music, movies, gaming, VR and more,” according to DropLabs CEO Susan Paley.

The EP 01 Triple Black sports dynamic tuning settings designed specifically for gaming, music and movies. The iOS app upgrade — available at the Apple App Store — includes an in-app LED color wheel to adjust the hue of the lights embedded within the sneaker and some surprises in the form of “easter eggs.”

The EP 01 Triple Black connects to an iPhone (iPhone 11 and later) via Bluetooth. The app guides you through set-up and controls every aspect of the sonic footwear.

The new DropLabs EP 01 are available for order on DropLabs website, and currently retail for US$299. There’s a bonus feel-good factor too with DropLabs named as an official partner with When We All Vote, a non-profit on a mission to register all eligible voters for the upcoming fall elections.
