Dawn of the ‘Planet of the Apps’ casting call

Cult of Mac reports that Apple is holding an open casting call for its upcoming original TV show, Planet of the Apps, which is about apps and the people who make them.

In March Apple nnounced that it was working with musician and actor Will.I.Am, one of the members of The Black Eyed Peas and a long-time Apple fan, on a new show that will spotlight the app economy. Will.I.Am will be working with two TV veterans, Ben Silverman and Howard Owens, to get the project off the ground. The show was described by Apple content senior VP Eddy Cue as “perfectly tailored for Apple.”

According to the Cupertino, California-based company, Planet of the Apps isn’t just a show, it’s a launch pad and accelerator for exceptional developers. Those accepted will have a chance to receive:

  • Mentorship: Hands-on guidance from some of the world’s best experts in tech and entertainment.
