Charlie Sloth leaves the BBC for Apple Music

Charlie Sloth, the “tastemaking presenter of hip-hop shows on both BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra,” is leaving its UK network for Apple Music, notes Music Business Worldwide. He’ll host a new worldwide show on Beats 1, and will contribute to the creation and curation of playlists, the article adds.

Sloth is an English DJ, producer, actor, and TV presenter. At the BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra, he was the presenter for The Rap Show andThe 8th. His trademark segment on both BBC shows, Fire in the Booth, is “regarded as a real mark of prestige in the scene.



Sloth founded record label Grimey Limey. He was also prominent on London pirate radio stations such as RawFM, Freek FM, Deja Vu FM and Raw Mission FM.
