Production resumes on ‘Invasion’ series for Apple TV+

Production has resumed on Invasion, an upcoming science fiction series created and co-written by Simon Kinberg and David Well, reports Deadline.

Kinberg is best known for his work on the X-Men film franchise, and has also written such films as Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Sherlock Holmes. He has served as a producer on others including Cinderella and The Martian, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Weil is a producer and actor, known for Moonfall, Half Heard in the Stillness, and The Hunt.

Invasion is set across multiple continents and follows an alien invasion through multiple perspectives around the world. Deadline says it’s “one of Apple’s most ambitious original series to date,” and will film on four continents: New York in the U.S. as well as UK (Manchester), Morocco and Japan.

The show will star Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Peaky Blinders), Shamier Anderson (Bruised, Awake), Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction, Paterson), Firas Nassar (Fauda) and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, The Outsider).
