A round-up of mini-reviews of SwitchEasy cases for the iPhone 12 Pro

By Dustin Darnell

For several day, I’ve been testing a plethora of SwitchEasy cases for my new iPhone 12 Pro. Instead of doing a lengthy review of each, following is around-up of mini-critiques.

SwitchEasy 0.35 UltraSlim Protection

This is the thinnest case I have every used. The power and volume buttons push very easily through the case.  Due to the thinness, the camera bump is still present when laid on a surface.  I’m not confident of the drop protection it adds, and I’m not brave enough to test it out.  The case is so thin it does not add noticeable bulk to the phone, which really appeals to me.

SwitchEasy Aero with nano coating

This case (pictured above) has a medium thickness.  It’s not super thin, but also not very bulky.  It has a cloudy appearance, I assume due to the coating.  It seems very durable and should provide some drop protection.  Using this case, the phone sits level on a surface as it is just thicker than the camera bump on the back of the phone.  The buttons push very easily.  Strangely, it does smell like wintergreen.

SwitchEasy Crush

This case has a medium thickness.  It’s not super thin, but also not very bulky.  It is completely clear so the iPhone shows through the case.  It seems very durable and should provide some drop protection.  Using this case, the phone sits level on a surface as it is just thicker than the camera bump on the back of the phone.  The volume buttons push very easily. However, there is a cut out for the power button, so you have to push a finger through the case to hit the iPhone power button.  It does creak a bit, probably due to the intentional AirBarrier around the phone.

Apple World Today Rating (out of 5 stars): ★★★

SwitchEasy Explorer

This case is bulky, but seems like it would offer additional protection for vigorous outdoor activity.  It has a spot to clip in a carabiner (not included) so you can attach to a hiking bag or backpack.  It is too large for everyday use.

Switch Easy Odyssey

This case is bulky, but seems like it would offer additional protection for vigorous outdoor activity.  It has two spots to clip in a carabiner (included) so you can attach to a hiking bag or backpack.  It does include a lanyard. It is too large for everyday use.
