AWT Business Spotlight: Twelve South

Each week Apple World Today will spotlight a company that offers products or services for the Apple community. Today’s spotlight is on one of my favorite companies: Twelve South, which makes a variety of Apple accessories and peripherals.

Twelve South was started by a husband-and-wife-team, Andrew and Leigh Ann Green, at their kitchen table in 2009, a time when Apple-exclusive accessories were unheard of. Tired of seeing the same accessories painted white and deemed “made for Apple”, they decided to design accessories that were as thoughtful and innovative as the devices they would support. BookArc for MacBook, Twelve South’s first product, is still one of its best-sellers 11 years later. Today the company is made up of a small team of about 20 and is based in Charleston, South Carolina.

Twelve South’s goal is to “create beautiful accessories designed to enhance, protect and personalize your experience with your favorite devices.” Here’s what the company says about its work: “We know there a lot of choices out there when it comes to your tech accessories so we pride ourselves on paying attention to the little nuances and millimeters that take our products to the next level. Each product has its own personality, which shows not only in its name, but even right down to the packaging. When you buy a Twelve South product, you’re getting something that has been thoughtfully considered every step of the way.”
