AWT Business Spotlight: Mac2Sell

Each week Apple World Today will spotlight a company that offers products or services for the Apple community. Today’s spotlight is on Mac2Sell, which provides estimates of the value of your second hand Apple device.

Established in 2007, it provides international reference ratings for used Apple products in 41 countries. Mac2Sell provides fresh quotes on thousands of Apple products (MacBook, iMac, iPhone, iPad, iPod and now Apple Watch) for buyers and sellers.

The new version of Mac2Sell, launched in early 2021, is based on SQRD’s VelveRate technology. SQRD is a Swiss company that operates in the field of R&D, financial and pharmaceutical industries. Its VelveRate is a system for monitoring, evaluating, processing and formatting product data.

According to Cornelia, Mac2Sell’s data analyst, Mac2Sell provides the first reference rating for Apple Watch. Aimed at sellers and buyers interested in the Apple Watch market, this service is free and allows anyone to find out the reference price of a second-hand Apple Watch, depending on its model.

“It’s quite complicated for a non-expert to determine the adequate value of an Apple Watch,” says Cornelia. ” The cause: models from different generations look very similar, and you often find the same model with prices that vary from simple to quadruple — on eBay, classifieds sites or even at refurbished product retailers. Our VelveRate technology, which generates Mac2Sell’s daily quotes, required additional and specific learning phases to master the very chaotic Apple Watch market.”

MP Network is the publisher of Mac2Sell since 2007. MP Network is a French organization that publishes websites and applications. It’s published the MacPlus.net website for 18 years, as well as FunTouch, iTrafik, JeuiPhoneGratuit and many other websites dedicated to the Apple technological domain.
