<p>Ahead of its Watch launch next month, Apple <a href="https://gma.yahoo.com/inside-apples-top-secret-health-fitness-lab-apple-115118978--abc-news-personal-finance.html"><span>allowed ABC inside</span></a> its secret testing facility for the Apple Watch. According to the report, employees were monitored while they exercised as part of the project, but did not know they were testing the Apple Watch.</p>

<p>It's been over a month since Apple World Today launched, and it has been a whirlwind experience. Everything came together so quickly for AWT that my head was spinning for those first few weeks. Part of the chaos came from the necessary change of doing things one way at TUAW and another at AWT. Even the same posts -- my Daily Deals and Today in the App Store posts -- required a whole new workflow. My colleagues have discussed their experiences; now it is time for me share my first month at AWT. </p>

<p>In September 2014, developer Greg Gardner received a call from Apple about his app, Launcher. "The short story is," Greg told me, "[Apple] told me to remove the widget or they'd take down the app. They also told me that they are usually restrictive when it comes to new functionality and that they sometime loosen the restrictions over time." Apparently that time has come, as <a href="http://www.cromulentlabs.com/launcher.html">Launcher returned to the App Store this week</a> after a six-month absence. </p>

<p>For developers, just updating one app can be a major undertaking. So imagine what the team at The Soulmen went through recently when they updated both their Ulysses for Mac Version 2.0 text editing app and created a new companion iPad app. After a long beta period for both apps, they’re now available and I’m happy to say that they’re both fantastic.</p>
