When my husband and I purchase a new iPhone or iPad, the older models are handed down to our children who are old enough to have a smartphone or tablet device. As a result, our family now has a total of 6 iOS devices that we sync to iTunes and connect via Apple's Family Sharing and iCloud accounts.

Pastimes: Get out to the ballgame with Major League Baseball Advanced Media apps

This Sunday, the Major League Baseball season will begin as the St. Louis Cardinals visit the Chicago Cubs at a newly renovated Wrigley Field. AWT News Update: April 2, 2015

This is pretty cool. Drexel University has installed an iPad rental vending machine that can be accessed by university students and neighboring residents. Students must present their ID while non-students take out an iPad with a valid Library of Philadelphia card. The rental period lasts four hours, and all data entered by the customer is expunged when the device is returned.

This has got me thinking about how public libraries can evolve to better serve their communities in the digital age.

Throwback Thursday: “High capacity storage system”

Ahhh, those were the days. If your wallet was full of cash or you had a decent amount of available credit on your credit card, you could pick up one of these babies -- a "ten plus megabyte" Macbottom hard drive for your Mac 128K or 512K. All you had to do is call 1-800-MACBUTT (I am not making this up) to order one.

Update to popular Scanbot app adds two powerful integrations

With as many apps as I have on my iPhone 6 Plus, I usually put them all in nicely arranged folders. There's an exception, though -- Scanbot (free with in-app purchases) always remains on my Home screen because I use it constantly. It was just a year ago that the app was launched, and the developers announced that over 1.75 million people have now downloaded Scanbot. Today the app received an update to version 3.7, and the developers added some extremely powerful integrations to the mix as well.

Pandora CFO confirms Apple Watch integration, says Apple is “frenemy”

With more than 81 million active users, Pandora is a heavyweight in the music streaming industry. It is bigger than Spotify, which has 60 million active users, and iTunes Radio, a less popular streaming service that Apple introduced alongside iOS 6.
