Apple Watch “add a friend” support page: Rickrolling at its best

Apple occasionally works Easter eggs into its products, and we get to hear some fun (or awful) jokes at the company's product announcement keynotes. The latest trick from the company is subtle and might be over looked by a lot of people, but not Ewan Spence at Forbes, who found that an Apple Watch support page contained a rickroll.

AWT News Update: August 27, 2015

Blogging is more than just writing a bunch of words. Sure, bloggers try to do their best to produce content that is intelligent, concise, and that teaches the reader something she didn't know before. But one under-appreciated aspect of blogging is adding photos that can draw a reader into a story, explain some aspect of the post, or just provide amusement or wonder. Adding photos to blogs is an art unto itself, something that a new Mac app from developer John Saddington (Desk) makes a lot easier. Teeny Tokyo ($9.99, launch sale of $4.99) is an OS X app that every blogger, amateur to professional, will want in his toolkit

How to update to watchOS 2… whenever that may actually happen

Apple Watch owners have been anxious to get their hands on watchOS 2, which was pulled at the last minute on Wednesday (September 16) because of bugs that were apparently taking longer to fix than expected. On the off chance that it happens today, or perhaps over the weekend when the AWT team is resting up for the iPhone 6s unboxing next Friday, here is how to update to watchOS 2. watchOS updates are done in a different manner from what we're used to with iOS and OS X updates, so here's what to expect.

I want the 35-inch iMac with 10x stereo speakers that this artist dreamed up

I spent last weekend at the Boston Festival of Indie Games and played many super games. A real standout was Super Happy Fun Block (universal, $2.99), a side-scrolling puzzle game that's cute, fun and challenging. Its hero is a bulbous little guy you can't help but root for as you guide him from puzzle to puzzle, building and destroying as you go. Here's our look at indie gem, Super Happy Fun Block.

iOS 9 content blockers: Great for the reader, bad for websites

Yesterday was the start of a new era: Apple's release of iOS 9 brought something new to Safari, content blockers. The primary reason for content blockers is to block ads on websites that you're visiting. Some sites -- probably not Apple World Today -- take forever to load simply because of the huge number of ads that are scattered throughout the site. Those ads are usually pulled from an ad server that's completely different from the web server, causing incredibly slow load times. Content blockers are designed to let you put certain slow-loading sites on a "blacklist", and then block those ads from loading. Other sites can be whitelisted if they're not a problem.

Bluelounge Aaden USB AA battery recharger

BlueLounge just announced something that I've personally needed for a long time; a AA battery recharger that I can plug into my Mac. The $19.99 Aaden is designed to charge up those rechargeable Ni-MH or NiCd AA batteries that probably power your Apple Wireless Keyboard, Mouse or Magic Trackpad, but instead of Apple's answer -- plugging a recharger into a wall socket -- Aaden neatly plugs into an open USB port on your Mac.
