Rowkin Bit Wireless Stereo Earbuds: Smaller, less expensive than AirPods

Apple's AirPods wireless earbuds should be coming out soon -- in fact, they may hit stores by the end of this week -- but for some people there are negatives associated with the product. First of all, those little white dangly bits just seem a bit weird to some folks, and the lack of a way to keep them completely connected to your ear while running is a concern. Then there's the price tag -- $159. Fortunately, there are alternatives, and today we're looking at the Rowkin Bit Wireless Stereo Earbuds ($109.99, affiliate link).

I've typed over 3 million words while blogging over the years, but this is the first blog post that I've written by hand. That's thanks to MyScript Nebo, an app for iPad Pro and Apple Pencil that has the best handwriting recognition I've ever seen -- and I was a rabid Apple Newton user and developer. It's so good that it's been awarded as an Apple World Today Top Pick of 2016.

Big DDoS attacks underway are causing major Internet disruptions.

Earlier this morning, Apple World Today may have been unavailable to our readers. That's because a number of large websites and web hosting providers based on the East coast of the US -- including our host Squarespace -- have been hit with a series of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. The attacks are continuing, taking down such sites as the New York Times, CNN, Twitter, Netflix, HBO Now, PayPal, and Reddit.
