Attack of the killer Grillbot

Every once in a while it's fun to post a review of something that is tech-related but doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Apple. That's the case with the Grillbot grill-cleaning robot (from $74.17 - this is an affiliate link benefitting Apple World Today; if you buy one, we'll be reimbursed). I first heard about Grillbot during CES 2017 where it received more attention than most of the "real" tech items, and since I do a lot of grilling, I thought I'd try one out on my surprisingly dirty old gas grill.

Apple may be funding Boeing Internet satellite development

An interesting piece of speculation arrived at Apple World Today this morning via a reader who pointed us to a blog post by Tim Farrar of TMF Associates, a consulting firm providing technical and financial analysis regarding the telecom and satellite industries. Farrar, referring to last week's Satellite 2017 conference, says that "I heard from a number of sources at Satellite 2017 that Boeing's V-band development work is being funded by Apple, which is clearly trying to find the next big thing and has been exploring cars, TVs and other large market opportunities."

Up your photo game with the Bitplay SNAP! 7 iPhone camera case and lenses

The iPhone is the world's most popular camera in terms of the number of photos taken, and it's no wonder -- iPhone owners always have the camera with them, and the photo quality is usually quite good. But the iPhone isn't the easiest device to take photos with. There's no built-in tripod mount for getting long-exposure pictures, sometimes pressing the on-screen shutter button can be a pain, and holding the iPhone one-handed to take a shot is an invitation to dropping it. That's where the Bitplay SNAP! 7 iPhone camera case (affiliate link) and accessory lenses come into play, and today we're giving it a full workout.
