<p>Sometimes it's amazing what makes it through countless beta versions of operating systems to the final product. In the case of macOS 10.13 High Sierra, <a target="_blank" href="https://medium.com/@matheusmariano/new-macos-high-sierra-vulnerability-exposes-the-password-of-an-encrypted-apfs-container-b4f2f5326e79" rel="noopener noreferrer">developer Matheus Mariano discovered a surprisingly bad vulnerability that displays the password of an encrypted APFS container</a>.</p>

<p>It may come as a shock to those who live and work solely in the Apple ecosystem, but it's a fact that there are more people who use their iOS devices with a Windows 10 PC than with Macs. The maker of Windows, Microsoft, today brought a preview version of its Microsoft Edge browser to iOS.</p>

<p>October 5, 2011 was a sad day for those of us who follow the world of Apple. On that day, Apple co-founder and icon Steve Jobs passed away after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. Today, Apple CEO Tim Cook remembered that with a heartfelt tweet complete with a photo of a much younger Jobs:</p>

<p>Today, Apple released watchOS 4.0.1, an update that is designed to fix a Wi-Fi issue that some Apple Watch Series 3 models with LTE cellular capabilities experienced. The issue, which had caused some early Series 3 reviewers to pan the device when they ran into the problem, caused the Watch to connect to an inaccessible but familiar Wi-Fi network instead of to an LTE network.</p>

<p><a target="_blank" href="https://techcrunch.com/2017/10/04/apple-acqui-hired-the-team-from-messaging-assistant-init-ai-to-work-on-siri/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple has acquired a six-person startup called Init.ai</a> that is known for "...a smart assistant for customer representatives to parse and get better insights from their interactions with users, as well as automate some of the interactions." </p>

<p>Apple's wildly anticipated iPhone X has received the approval of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which clears the way for pre-orders to begin as scheduled on October 27 -- just 23 days from now. </p>

<p>Apple Park, the new headquarters of Apple in Cupertino, California, is an pricey project. The final price tag for the new campus has been estimated at near $5 billion, and now <a target="_blank" href="https://www.buildzoom.com/blog/what-it-takes-to-build-apple-park" rel="noopener noreferrer">BuildZoom has captured information from building permits that shows the costs of each of the major buildings on the site</a>.</p>

<p>Apple has just released iOS 11.0.2 for iPhone and iPads. As noted in the update notes seen below, the update:</p><ul><li>Fixes an issue where crackling sounds may occur during calls for a small number of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus devices</li><li>Addresses an issue that could cause some photos to become hidden</li><li>Fixes an issue where attachments in S/MIME encrypted emails would not open</li></ul>

<p>The <a target="_blank" href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/youtube/id544007664?mt=8" rel="noopener noreferrer">YouTube app</a> (free) for iOS was updated this morning with a new iMessage app that lets users share video and watch those videos inline without having to exit the Messages app. </p>
