<p>Tomorrow is the big day. Apple’s special media event will start at noon (Pacific time), and there will be lots of big announcements. Here’s what my crystal ball says will happen.</p>

The Cupertino, California-based company’s 11 foreign lawsuits against the world’s dominant supplier of baseband processors can proceed while the dispute plays out in the U.S.</p>

<p>ProtectStar has announced iLocker for Mac 1.0. It’s a password-protected app and file security utility.</p>
<p>Apple has announced that iTunes U collections are moving from iTunes U to the Podcasts app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple TV, or the Podcasts section of iTunes on your Mac or PC.</p>
<p>A group including Western Digital is <a target="_blank" href="http://www.reuters.com/article/us-toshiba-accounting-apple/western-digital-seeks-y50-billion-from-apple-to-help-finance-toshiba-chip-bid-kyodo-idUSKCN1BJ0QC?feedType=RSS&feedName=businessNews" rel="noopener noreferrer">seeking</a> around ¥50B (about US$464 million) from Apple to help finance a bid for Toshiba’s memory chip unit, the <em>Kyodo</em> news agency reports.</p>
<p>Apple has filed for a patent (number 20170256110) for “electronic device operating using remote user biometrics” that talks of aSiri Remote for the Apple TV that sports Touch ID or some sort of biometric identification. It also hints at smart home devices with such tech.</p>
<p>Yesgo says its shockproof cases for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the thinnest around. I can’t vouch for that, and they’re wider than some (more on that later), but they are quite svelte and are a steal at the price (you can get ‘em at <a target="_blank" href="https://www.amazon.com/iphone-7-plus-case/dp/B072V5MZW2" rel="noopener noreferrer">Amazon</a> for about $13).</p>
