Apple has filed for a patent (number 20200166348) for “navigation system acquisition and use of cellular coverage map data.” The idea is to improve an iPhone’s ability to communicate with a vehicle’s navigation system to find the best route to a destination.</p>

<p class="">India’s government has dropped “contentious” clauses including the evaluation of plant and machinery to be brought from China and South Korea, which had been opposed mainly by Apple, paving the way for the tech giant and other companies to make a larger play in local production using the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, reports the <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/tech/hardware/india-paves-way-for-apple-others-to-increase-domestic-production-by-removing-a-clause/articleshow/76098501.cms" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Economic Times</a>.</p>

<p class="">Federal judge John Walter has tossed out a copyright suit against Apple and Servant director/executive producer M. Night Shyamalan, reports <a href="https://variety.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Variety</a>. The lawsuit claimed that the Apple TV+ series <em>Servant </em>is a facsimile of Francesca Gergorini's 2013 film, <em>The Truth About Emanuel.</em></p>

<p class="">The <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/a08627c5-61d6-4513-9e7e-acac6b1ba862" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Financial Times</a> reports that, in a letter sent to European competition commissioner Margrethe Vestager, California-based tracking app maker Tile argued that Apple was making it more difficult for users to operate its product on their smartphones compared to Apple's own rival application, FindMy, by selectively disabling features that allow for seamless user experience.</p>

<p class="">Apple has recently asked LG Display to supply LCD panels for the iPad “fast,” reports <a href="http://www.businesskorea.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=46644" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Business Korea</a>. The display maker is expected to start supplying them as early as June by operating the production lines at full throttle.</p>
