‘Theatrical window’ for movies shortening from 75 days to 17 — at least for one studio

<p class="">Movies will play in theaters for much less time before moving to home video under a new agreement between theater chain AMC and Universal Pictures, “upending the way Hollywood has done business for decades,” reports <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/amc-universal-agree-to-trim-theatrical-window-before-movies-go-online-11595968517" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Wall Street Journal</a>.</p>

Apple TV+ series, specials nab 18 Emmy nominations

<p class="">Yesterday Apple won two Daytime Emmy awards for its <em>Ghostwriter </em>and <em>Peanuts in Space </em>children’s series. Today, during the <a href="https://www.emmys.com/sites/default/files/Downloads/72nd-nominations-list-v1.pdf?q=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">announcement of the (non-Daytime) Emmys</a>, Apple TV+ shows nabbed 18 nominations. Bowdoin College to provide iPad Pros to all students

<p class="">In response to the COVID-19 crisis in which Bowdoin College will be conducting nearly all <a href="https://www.bowdoin.edu/covid-19/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">fall semester classes online</a>, the College’s will issue fully equipped Apple iPad tablets to each student in the coming weeks. This comes at the recommendation of the faculty-led Continuity in Teaching and Learning Group (CTLG).</p>

Apple granted patent for haptic and audio feedback on an Apple Pencil

Spotify said Swift’s total of 79.4 million streams is a new record for an album by a female artist. Apple Music’s total of 35.47 million is a new high for a pop album.</p>
