<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple and TikTok skipped a Senate hearing on Big Tech and China — and some lawmakers are NOT happy about the absences, reports <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-and-tiktok-had-empty-seats-at-the-senate-hearing-2019-11" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Business Insider</a>.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Kanex’s $99.95 <a href="https://www.kanex.com/usbc-ipad-docking-station" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">6-in-1 Multiport USB-C Docking Station</a> promises to let you “easily turn your iPad Pro into a portable workstation.” I still find my Apple tablet too limited to replace my Mac laptop as my portable working device (though “true” mouse support would help), but this device does make it more laptop-like.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple, eBay, Samsung, and Sprint have announced a joint agreement to purchase power from a new wind farm owned and developed by <a href="https://apexcleanenergy.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apex Clean Energy</a>. The transaction—spearheaded by Apple, the largest purchaser in the innovative small-load energy aggregation space—totals approximately 75 megawatts of clean energy, enough to power the equivalent of 20,000 homes.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has filed for a patent (number 10,466,895) for a “handwriting keyboard for screens” that hints at future Apple Pencil support for iPhones and perhaps even Apple Watches.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">I had hoped to test out the <a href="https://www.tesmo.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tesmo Kickstand</a> with a 16-inch MacBook Pro, but since the rumored laptop hasn’t yet arrived from Apple, I gave it a whirl on my 2019 MacBook Air. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">The Wallet app in iOS 12 and 13 allows you to store data from rewards cards, passes, and more, along with your Apple Pay info.  Some passes automatically appear at the right time or place because they include information based on time or location. </p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Apple has <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_-nk9-sMus" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">released a trailer</a> for its upcoming film <em>The Banker</em>, starring Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, Nia Long, and Nicholas Hoult. It’s a fact-based period drama about entrepreneurs who tried to circumvent the racial limitations of the 1950s as they turned their business savvy into social activism and decided to help African Americans get loans in Texas. It will debut in theaters on Dec. 6, a few weeks before it arrives on Apple TV+.</p>

<p class="" style="white-space:pre-wrap;">Conviva, which specializes in global streaming media intelligence, has released its quarterly <a href="https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&l=en&o=2629254-1&h=456810996&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.conviva.com%2Fstate-of-streaming%2F&a=State+of+Streaming+report" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">State of Streaming report</a> for quarter three of 2019, revealing time spent streaming continues to climb – up 53% year-over-year – as consumers embrace on demand videos (63% of all streaming viewing is on demand) on their TVs, computers, and mobile devices. </p>
