<p>Last year Apple lost the top position of the <a target="_blank" href="http://fbi.futurebrand.com/rankings" rel="noopener noreferrer">“world’s favorite company” </a>to Google, but our favorite tech company has reclaimed the top spot this year. Also, in the top 10 were Microsoft, Samsung, Walt Disney, Abbie (a health care company), Facebook, Toyota, Amazon, Celgene Corp. (a health care company), and Gilead Sciences (a health care company). </p>

<p>When the Olympic games start in August, Apple will sell Apple Watch bands that reference the national flags of 14 major competitors, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.gq.com/story/apple-watch-olympic-bands)" rel="noopener noreferrer">reports GQ</a>.</p>

<p>Apple has announced that its first retail store in Brooklyn, New York will open on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m. It will be the company’s ninth retail store in the Big Apple.</p>

<p>Apple files for — and is granted — lots of patents by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Many are for inventions that never see the light of day. However, you never can tell which ones will materialize in a real product, so here are today’s patent highlights: </p>
