<p>Piper Jaffray analyst <a target="_blank" href="http://seekingalpha.com/news/3204563-piper-jaffray-analyst-gene-munster-apples-battery-ar-vr-automobile-prospects?source=email_rt_mc_readmore&uprof=53&dr=1#email_link" rel="noopener noreferrer">Gene Munster thinks</a> we’ll see some results of the “Apple Car” project before the 2021 date mentioned by the <em>Wall Street Journal</em>.</p>

<p>With a MacBook Pro expected in the next couple of months, RBC Capital Markets analyst Amit Daryanani <a href="http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderdaily/2016/08/19/apple-possible-macbook-pro-refresh-an-extra-lift-for-the-stock-says-rbc/">believes</a> a trend of year-over-year Mac revenue declines in three consecutive quarters is set to reverse. </p>

<p>The CEO of AT&T will announce today that 33 companies including the telecom giant, Apple, Alphabet, Comcast, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon are joining an effort with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to crackdown on “robocalls,” reports <a target="_blank" href="http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-robocalls-idUSKCN10U18L" rel="noopener noreferrer">Reuters</a>.</p>

<p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.sony.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sony Electronics</a> has announced its XAV-AX100 in-car audio system, which offers Apple CarPlay as an option (and Android Auto, as well, but I know you'll prefer CarPlay). The system retails at $499.99 and will be available across North America as of late November</p>

<p>According to <a href="http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20160818PD200.html"><em>Digitimes</em></a>, suppliers in Taiwan are beginning to resist demands for ever-greater discounts from Apple. The article says the Cupertino, California-based company has met resistance from makers in Taiwan's supply chain to lower their quotes for parts and components for the “iPhone 7.”</p>

<p>Frank Ocean has released a 45-minute long “visual album” titled Endless exclusively on Apple Music. A representative from Apple’s streaming music service told <a target="_blank" href="http://pitchfork.com/news/67657-frank-ocean-releases-visual-album-endless-watch/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pitchfork</a> to “keep an eye out this weekend for more from Frank.” </p>
