Apple: the Australian banks’ electronic payments request would harm customers

<p>Apple has <a target="_blank" href="https://www.scribd.com/document/322522902/Apple-ACCC-Submission" rel="noopener noreferrer">issued a formal response</a> to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), Australia’s anti-trust regulator, saying that giving Australian banks what they want would be doubly harmful to consumers. The country’s three biggest banks want approval to collectively negotiate with Apple to install their own electronic payments applications on iPhones.</p>

250,000 ANZ customers are now using Apple Pay

The cord-cutting trend continues among pay TV subscribers

<p>Approximately 812,000 pay TV subscribers cut the cord from April through June of this year, according to research firm SNL Kagan — as noted by <a target="_blank" href="http://www.thewrap.com/812000-cut-the-cord-q2-2016-cord-cutting-accelerates-comcast-dish-directv-time-warner-cable-verizon/" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Wrap</a>. <p>Apple gets an “A” in the <em>2016 Semi-Annual Computer Reliability Report</em> from <a target="_blank" href="http://www.rescuecom.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">RESCUECOM</a>, a computer repair company.
