Apple sued for patent infringement involving its iMessage service/app

<p>Another day, another lawsuit. Apple is being sued for, as usual, patent infringement by a company called Seatoun Media. In a lawsuit filed in the lawsuit-friendly Texas Eastern District Court, the company claims Apple’s iMessage service/app violates a 15-year-old patent for recording and playing back voice messages over a network, reports <a target="_blank" href="http://appleinsider.com/articles/17/01/16/lawsuit-accuses-apples-imessages-of-violating-2002-point-of-sale-patent" rel="noopener noreferrer">AppleInsider</a>.</p>

Rumor: the iPhone 8 will have ‘highest level of dust and water resistance’

<p>Apple’s “iPhone 8” will feature “the highest level of dust and water resistance,” reports the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.theinvestor.co.kr/view.php?ud=20170112000659" rel="noopener noreferrer">Korea Herald</a>, quoting unnamed “multiple sources.” The upcoming smartphone will purportedly sport an IP68 rating, the highest level of weather protection that can handle submersion for 30 minutes in 1.5 meters of water. </p>

The never-ending Apple-Samsung legal brouhaha continues on…

<p>The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has reopened the never-ending Apple lawsuit accusing Samsung of copying the iPhone's design, according to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.law360.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">Law360</a>. This comes just over a month after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Samsung may not have to pay all its profits from the smartphones found to infringe Apple’s design patents.</p>

How to disable LinkedIn birthdays in macOS Sierra Calendar

Consumer Reports retests and now recommends 2016 MacBook Pros

<p><em>Consumer Reports</em> <a href="http://www.consumerreports.org/apple/consumer-reports-now-recommends-macbook-pros/">has released an updated report</a> on the 2016 MacBook Pro, and is now recommending the laptop following retesting.
