<p>More than half of the folks who plan to purchase the iPhone X will go with the higher priced 256GB model, according to a new survey by RBC Capital Markets — as noted by <a target="_blank" href="http://www.macrumors.com" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MacRumors.</em> </a></p>

<p>Samsung will make $4 billion more from making parts for Apple’s iPhone than for its own Galaxy S8 handset, according to Counterpoint Technology Market Research— as noted by <a target="_blank" href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/why-apple-rival-samsung-also-wins-if-iphone-x-is-a-hit-1506936602?mod=rss_Technology" rel="noopener noreferrer">The Wall Street Journal</a>.</p>

<p>Apple wants the iPhone to be able to “remotely control” a hearing aid, as evidenced by a new patent filing (number 20170280225). In the patent filing, Apple notes that modern hearing devices are high tech computing devices equipped with multiple speakers and types of speakers and are capable of receiving sound data from multiple audio data sources such as microphones attached to the hearing device as well as being able to stream audio data directly to the hearing device. </p>

<p>With iOS, you can block contacts and phone numbers on your device. You can also filter iMessages from unknown senders and report iMessages that look like spam or junk.</p>

<p>Searchware Solutions' Print Window is a useful window printing utility for macOS. Integrated with the Finder, it allows users to print a file listing of folders with a simple key command (or other methods of triggering a file listing).</p>

<p>On Sept. 12, Apple finally rolled out a product that I’ve been waiting for: the Apple TV 4K with HDR. I have a 4K TV (but it lacks HDR support — darn it!), so it’s a welcome upgrade. And one that helps Apple catch up with the competition.</p>

<p>Apple has filed for two patents involving the upcoming HomePod speaker system. Apple’s HomePod is expected to go on sale in December and cost $349. The device is just under seven inches tall and looks like a piece of furniture. It will be available in both space gray and white, and also acts as a hub for HomeKit devices to provide remote access to home automation.</p>

<p>With the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular), you can set up and use cellular, making the smartwatch a kind of “mini-iPhone.” You’ll be able to make calls, reply to messages, receive notifications, and more, with just your Apple Watch even when you aren't connected to your iPhone or Wi-Fi.</p>

<p>As Apple Pay gains popularity, and loyalty cards and receipts can be accessed from smartphones, it may be time to downsize the typical wallet.
