<p>Apple plans to offer Apple Pencil compatible iPhones “as early as 2019,” according to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.theinvestor.co.kr/view.php?ud=20171013000757" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>The Investor</em></a>, quoting unnamed “industry sources.” Currently for iPad Pros only, the stylus … er, pencil … debuted in 2016.</p>
<p>In a note to clients — as noted by <em><a target="_blank" href="http://appleinsider.com/articles/17/10/12/apple-predicted-to-ditch-fingerprint-recognition-in-2018-iphone-lineup" rel="noopener noreferrer">AppleInsider</a></em> — KGI Securities analysts Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will completely abandon its Touch ID capacitive fingerprint recognition system in favor of the “depth-sensing technology when it introduces next year's iPhone lineup.</p>
<p>Apple has been granted a patent (number 20170294108) for a “self adapting alert device” that would allow an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch to autonomously adapt one or more user alerts to the current operating environment of the gadget.</p>
