<p>Apple has been granted a patent (number 9,668,024) that shows it has bigger plans for Siri, its digital automated assistant, on the Apple TV. For example, it could e used to interact with a television set-top box and control content shown on a TV. </p>

<p>Apple has updated its free <a target="_blank" href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wwdc/id640199958?mt=8)" rel="noopener noreferrer">WWDC app</a> for iOS and tvOS to version 6.0. It allows you to follow along with developments at the Worldwide Developer Conference. </p>
<p>Apple says <a target="_blank" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSvOwwDexts" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Carpool Karaoke: The Series</em></a> will be available to Apple Music subscribers starting Tuesday, Aug. 8. It will welcome a different group of stars every Tuesday, with new episodes available exclusively to Apple Music subscribers in more than 100 countries. </p>
<p>Despite some predictions that the next generation of iPhone will ship later than the usual September time frame, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty says in a note to clients -- as noted by <a target="_blank" href="http://www.barrons.com/articles/you-wont-have-to-wait-for-that-iphone-8-1496168586" rel="noopener noreferrer">Barron’s</a> -- that there's a “limited risk of a significantly delayed launch" for the "iPhone 8" (shown in fanciful mock-ups).</p>
<p>Shares of ParkerVision are moving after a Florida court granted the reopening of a patent infringement case filed against Apple, LG and Qualcomm, notes <a target="_blank" href="https://seekingalpha.com/news/3270459-parkervision-soars-reopening-apple-qualcomm-infringement-case?uprof=53&dr=1#email_link" rel="noopener noreferrer">Seeking Alpha</a>. Shares were up 28% premarket.</p>
<p>Nintendo’s plans to ramp up Switch production may have hit a snag due to parts competition from Apple’s iPhones, according to the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/nintendo-battles-apple-for-parts-as-switch-demand-rises-1496136603" rel="noopener noreferrer">Wall Street Journal</a>.</p>
<p>LG Display is <a target="_blank" href="http://english.etnews.com/20170530200001" rel="noopener noreferrer">reportedly</a> making a $3.6 billion investment in an OLED factory to challenge Samsung for the chance to make iPhone screens. Samsung is currently the only OLED supplier to the iPhone launching this fall.</p>
<p>I really want to see a new iMac announced at next week's Apple Worldwide Developer Conference and be available immediately. However, I suspect the next gen all-in-one won’t ship until September. If so, a high-end model could sport Intel Coffee Lake processors.</p>
<p>According to a new forecast from the International Data Corporation (<a href="http://www.idc.com/">IDC</a>) <a target="_blank" href="http://www.idc.com/tracker/showproductinfo.jsp?prod_id=37" rel="noopener noreferrer">Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker</a>, worldwide smartphone shipments are expected to rebound slightly in 2017 with expected growth of 3% over the previous year. And things are looking good for Apple's iPhone.</p>
<p>As noted by <a target="_blank" href="http://www.macrumors.com" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacRumors</a>, Apple has updated its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro/15-inch" rel="noopener noreferrer">online store</a> to indicate that 15-inch MacBook Pro orders are now estimated for free delivery between June 5-8 in the U.S. This makes sense, as new laptops are predicted to be unveiled at next week's Apple Worldwide Developer Conference.</p>
